Friday Night Lights the television show is an adaptation of a book created by Buzz Binger. The show is about a fictional small town of Dillon, Texas that puts all its soul into the high school football team. The show focuses on how coach Taylor and his family, wife Tami and daughter Julie create bonds and relationships in the town that go further then football. Coach Taylor inspires the boys of his football team to achieve greatness and spread their love of the sport with others by playing a good game. He promoted that losing a game does not mean you are weak or should be ashamed, as long as they do not lose themselves in the process.

   The players learn to respect the coacf and his beliefs even when they cannot see improvement . These young men look up to him and he acts as a guide and mentor in their life. Tami does the same as the guidance counsellor of the school. She is there to help in any way with all the members of the school and town. As the two Taylors attempt to bring hope and faith into a community that really needs it. Their daughter  Julie is rebellious and does not see the excitement in football, team pride or even supporting the little town, as all she wants is to leave.

  Through its five seasons the Taylors encounter many challenges personally and about others that help to bond their faith in God. This small town of Texas has strong believers in the power of Christ and Christianity. One of the Gods that is held to the highest level is coach Taylor, as he is the voice of their faith, 'football'.
